Ural Locomotives is a modern high–tech enterprise for the production of railway rolling stock. It was founded on July 1, 2010. It is part of the Sinara Group.
The main activities of the plant are the design, production, sale and maintenance of traction and motor-car rolling stock of a new generation, characterized by increased efficiency, high consumer, operational and environmental properties.
Currently, the company produces electric freight locomotives "Sinara" (series 2ES6 and 3ES6) with a collector traction engine and "Malachite" (series 2ES8 and 3ES8) with a domestic asynchronous traction drive, as well as Russian high-speed passenger electric trains "Finist" ES104.
Freight electric locomotives and passenger electric trains produced earlier by the company are currently being operated on the transport network and regularly undergo maintenance. These include:
• «Granit» electric freight locomotive (series 2ES10, 3ES10) with asynchronous traction drive, powered by a DC network;
• 2ES7 freight electric locomotive with asynchronous traction motor, powered by AC power;
• high-speed electric train «Swallow» (series ES2G, ES2GP, ES1P) with asynchronous traction motor.
Thanks to its own engineering, as well as powerful production and technological potential, the company occupies a leading position in Russia in the production of railway rolling stock in the market of equipment for 1520 mm gauge.

The Ural locomotives plant has formed a strong and highly efficient team of design engineers, process engineers, software developers, testers, test drivers and rolling stock operation specialists.
When developing new products and modifying existing equipment, Ural Locomotives uses an automated design and engineering data management system.
Thanks to the well-coordinated work of the professional team, new ideas are being generated in the field of modern railway transport, as well as the plant's own developments are being created and successfully implemented.
During its activity, Ural locomotives plant has received more than 150 patents for utility models and unique inventions.
