«Granite» (2ES10, 3ES10)

The 2ES10 freight two-section electric locomotive with asynchronous traction motors is designed for driving freight trains on 1520 mm gauge railways electrified with 3 kV direct current.

It is capable of driving a train weighing 9,000 tons on sections with a flat track profile (up to 6 0/00) and a train weighing 6,300 tons on sections with a mountain profile (up to 10 0/00).

To increase the traction properties of 2ES10 electric freight locomotives, a booster section has been developed for driving high-weight trains along railway sections with a particularly complex track profile.
